My favorite short fiction reads have always employed a little weirdness, and my own work follows suit, leaning toward magical realism and a hint (or more) of darkness. I enjoy colorful imagery and poetic language, and I’m always working for a better understanding of structure and character development.

Of the selections below, “Dusk Swim” appeared in LingerFiction in January of 2011, and the remaining pieces are unpublished. “The Veritas Carnivale” is a novel-in-progress that is currently on hold due to graduate school. “Junebug” is a special favorite that never found a home, and I hope at least a few people will read it here.
